What is Prevail Bank doing to keep its customers financially safe?
The above question was posed to us after we issued a Fraud Awareness email to our customers. It was a great question. We suspect many people were asking the same.
Please know, Prevail Bank is fully committed to the protection and confidentiality of your information. We follow, in strict accordance, the guidelines established by the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). Our internal Information Technology controls are subject to rigorous annual audits conducted by an independent third-party firm. And, we maintain a robust third-party risk management framework and engage in ongoing evaluations of cybersecurity threats.
To promote awareness and enhance customer education, we hope you’ve noticed we regularly publish blog articles on our website that address emerging cyber threats and criminal tactics. We also disseminate informational emails to keep you, our customers, informed of relevant cybersecurity developments.
We strongly advise our customers to remain vigilant and to verify the authenticity of any communication --- whether it’s by email, phone, or video --- especially those that supposedly originate from a financial institution or another well-known business. Personal information should never be disclosed unless you, the customer, initiated the contact and confirmed its legitimacy.
We also recommend setting up a key word or phrase for banking validation.
For enhanced security:
- Prevail Bank has implemented advanced security controls, including Multi-Factor Authentication, Login Defenses that block access from known threat actor countries, and Behavior Analytics in-session risk analysis that accelerates responses to security threats.
- Prevail uses real time fraud monitoring and scoring on debit card transactions to limit fraud.
- We provide you, our customer, with Debit Card controls that provide alerts on suspicious activity, in addition to allowing you to immediately turn off your card.
- Account alerts are available for customers to set up to be aware of any transactions conducted on their account.
- We also offer free credit monitoring, allowing customers to monitor and improve their credit. This service includes notifications such as unauthorized use of a customer's personal information to secure credit through fraudulent means.
At Prevail Bank, your financial safety is not just a priority — it's a responsibility we take to heart every single day. We are committed to staying ahead of emerging threats and continuously strengthening our security practices to protect you and your information.
If you are aware of a loved one who could benefit from having a personal or business checking or savings account from a financial institution that puts people, security, and the communities it serves first, send them a referral to Prevail Bank.
